There's plenty of news going on in the world that can be posted in Lounge that isn't gratuitously macabre. No one's trying to "live in a bubble," but there's no need to post stories like "Teenager, 18, dies after falling into a Stump Grinder" or "Two-year-old Child Stabbed in Face 42 Times by Uncle." This isn't Yahoo News, this is a web forum where threads are supposed to foster discussion. There's no discussion to be had about stories like those and the only thing they do is bum people out.
