I never answer when someone knocks when I'm at my parents' house alone

No. I prefer it, actually, because I get to walk around in the nude.

I used to when I was younger because I watch a lot of horror movies. Plus I was a child. Today I love being alone.

I was a latchkey kid the moment I turned 5 and am an only child so I never had that problem

I don't mind it until it hits night time and I'm starting to hear creeks and thumps.

I have dogs which help, but one night while my mum was out. I was in my room with my dog and I heard some noise come from my mum's bedroom. It was pitch black and I couldn't see, but my imagination started playing with me, I imagined someone standing, looking back at me, so I was crapping myself.

I managed to get my dog to go into the hallway and look into the room, he ends up staring into the black room for about 10 seconds and then runs down the stairs... Once he did this, my heart stopped and I could feel a tear form in my eye, suddenly, the tear drop fell and landed on my cheek. I was so scared. I found the courage and got up from my bed, went into the hallway and turned the light on... There was nothing.

So basically, my dogs wouldn't be helpful if something had happened to me while being home alone which makes me scared.

I prefer living alone! I find so much joy but being independent.

I used to be scared of being home alone especially at night in my childhood home because we lived in the country and neighbors were far and it was just woods and darkness.. so you would hear lots of creepy noises and not know what they were or where they were coming from.

But now i want to live completely on my own.

Only when i watch horror films sometimes, but for the most part being home alone is great. It gets a bit lonely/empty at times but it's still lit.

But yeah watching a creepy horror just before bed isn't great sometimes <<

not by day but at night yes, I couldn't live alone. so happy I have flat mates, if they're gone at night I get so much anxiety and can't sleep
