The game just seems outdated. Doesn't feel like a modern RPG. But I guess since its Pokemon, people give it a pass?

(I'm still hyped for Sun/Moon, it looks like a huge improvement. And X is still pretty good I guess.. There's just so many little annoyances )

Yeah, I guess most of this is Pokemon in general. I fail to see how having a mini map available to you after you explore an area would ruin the storyline of the game. Or a more modern system for storing Pokemon. Or showing the type (just little icons would suffice!) of Pokemon you're fighting. Or showing their exact HP number, like yours. Or explaining the weakenesses/strengths of the types (a simple graph/chart would be perfect). Tbh I don't see how any of the stuff I said would ruin the storyline But I may be missing something here.
