‘I think she is the real deal, the absolute real deal,’ he says of Nicole Scherzinger.
‘I do believe she is the most exciting artist I have found – well, that I have worked with – in very, very many years. I really do.’
‘She did the most marvellous version of Don’t Cry For Me, Argentina on television. When she did that, I just said, “Oh, Nicole. We’ve got to find the right thing to do together.”’
‘I would very greatly hope she would do it. To do something like that in America would open up a billion doors for her.’

Andrew Lloyd Webber has said he has been made to look “an absolute twot” after former Pussycat Doll singer Nicole Scherzinger pulled out of his Broadway musical to return to the UK as an X Factor judge.
Scherzinger, who was a judge for two seasons of the talent show, has pulled out of Cats on Broadway just before rehearsals began, Lloyd Webber said.
In a furious interview on Friday, the impresario said the singer had lost herself a possible Tony award.
“A week before we were due to go into rehearsal for Cats on Broadway, which luckily I’m not producing, she calls me and says she’s decided she wants to do X Factor, having agreed everything,” he told the Economist Radio.
“I mean, she’s crazy. But the American producers just took a view, ‘Well, fine, we’ll get somebody else’, because she’s actually not very well known in America, amazingly. She’s much better known here.”
Lloyd Webber said he felt he had been made to look personally foolish by her return to the ITV show.
“I’m furious because I really believe she’s the most fantastically talented girl and I went out on a limb to get her for the London Palladium here, and it makes me look like an absolute twot with them all,” he said. “But never mind, there’ll be another girl on Broadway and Nicole will not get her Tony award.”
AP and Nicole denied his claims and she's right/. She turned down X Factor 2 weeks ago for Broadway. Andrew did say the producers weren't that familiar with Nicole so they were probably hesitant about signing her and they never finalized her contract. Which is why she choose X Factor.
no one posted the full quotes and his initial comments praising her and call her MOST EXCITING ARTIST ever
well, you should have also added the article where she denies these claims, and rightfully so.
the producers of Cats are to blame, not Nicole. They never finalized her contract and Nicole did what she felt best, since they appeared to not be sure about Nicole playing the role.

This isn't about her solo music career. It's about Cats.
Anyway, she's denied it and said they never finalized a contract with her.
well her solo career not taking off in the US kinda adds t her not being a big enough name in the US to be the make or break asset to Broadway production. It would've done more for her, than she would've done for Cats. factor may be a big check, but what will it do for her in the LONG run? It didn't do much the last time besides fill up her bank account.

She would never be a make or break name for Cats and big names aren't necessary for a Broadway productions anyway. Now that Nicole is out, it'll be another unknown. Besides, her role isn't that big, but she sings the main song in it and considering the response she received abroad, it would have been a positive for her. She would have easily received praise from critics and get at least a Tony nomination. Now she's just getting a bigger paycheck, but that's it.

But she's quite a favorite within the musical theater people. Broadway sites are ALWAYS posting about her and they have stated numerous times how they are waiting for her Broadway debut. By a quick look on the comments on sites about Musical Theater and Nicole's performances in Rent, Cats(UK), Don't Cry For Me Argentina and Phantom, people want to see her on Broadway more than seeing her as a pop act.
And judging by her universally acclaimed debut on West End, she would have NAILED the role once again.

OFC she could be a favorite.. she can sing, dance and she looks good doing it..
Xfactor is a waste o her time.. IMO

I completely agree. Broadway would open so many doors to her and people, especially in the US, would finally realize what a phenomenal performer and talent she really is. It could be the start of a brilliant career.
But apparently, the producers weren't sure about Nicole, so they never finalized her contract, which led her to sign with X Factor instead. She's going to go with the person who believes in her and makes sure she's being valued. And Simon did that.
I just hope she made sure to sign a great deal with Simon, not just money wise. She should make sure to secure big promotional platforms for her upcoming music.
