OK, and if you bought the single...there is a bit of info revealed.

She's signed to RED Sony Music via MBK Entertainment (Alicia Key's original label/manager).

So technically she's still indie, but will have relationships/connections of a major label w/ full creative control. So when she was saying be patient and that everything is for a reason. This is why. She's really working to have a solid setup for this album in the Fall.

This is also what she meant by "upgraded situation" during her The Verge livestream Q&A lol.

UM WTF are the Dawn Richard stans at? Yall on vacation? Or still stuck on Infrared?

This girl just did what yall wanted her to do (sign to a label and get a real manager), and no one is up in here popping bottles and celebrating??!! Our girl about to scalp the other indie Pop chicks with her new setup.

It says it as the label on the iTunes Store when you buy "Wake Up". MBK Records / RED Sony Music.

Tbh, she prob won't even announce it. From my work in the biz, I know some major label artists who have deals but want to appear indie so they never announce their deal. it's almost not cool being associated with labels now, especially if you're an Electronic artist.

So to appear like she's still doing this all on her own, she probably won't even mention it interviews.

Good for her. I want to see her win but I don't like none of what I am hearing. I don't like Wake Up at all but I will keep checking for her. Tbh someone like Dawn does not need a label, a good management team and a distribution deal enough for a hustler.

That's basically what this is. Jeff will managing her and helping oversee the development of project, while RED is helping with distribution and will assist with marketing likely.

She don't won't have to go through the usual label BS (pushbacks, etc)

Not sure how this will play out with radio though...or maybe they don't care about radio play because she was doing fine without it anyways.

But something about these last 2 tracks sounds extremely dated and thats not the dawn i know. the dawn i know is always years ahead of the game. She said red was originally gonna sound folk, i wish she would have stuck to that idea.

I also don't like how shes been delivering vocals, her high pitch voice in NAT and Wake Up sound so off key to me. I prefer hr lower register, but thats probably just my opinion.
