Slurs and other types of poisonous language are often readily excused under the cloak of "preference."
I admit to being more attracted to more masculine guys, but I would never pass up on an opportunity to date someone purely on the grounds of him being "feminine," and I've been attracted to similar guys in the past. There is a marked difference between that and the regular diatribe you tend to regurgitate in these types of discussions.
