Beautifully written, the problem I have with Miss bell hooks is that she believes there is only one path to ending exploitation and domination. She's incredibly intelligent but there's definitely arrogance embedded within the criticism, & arrogance always clouds one's judgement. She's determined that emotional violence against black females will continue lest change is mutual between both parties, yet had Jay-Z showcased such sentiment she would've dismissed it as commodification for an upcoming joint tour. The change she describes is, in her own words, a world of gendered cultural paradox and contradiction.
