I'm kind of surprised actually; I thought it was one of her better songs as of late and the reception seemed generally positive (and people saw it as a nice comeback from the messy 2015 year). Are you surprised it's underperforming?

The urban crowd has never been her core fanbase, she's always appealed to the pop rap crowd aka the pitbull/flo rida audience. So racism isn't a legitimate excuse.
She is an idiot and dug her own grave by being uneducated on just about everything she addressed via social media and in her interviews post-Fancy. And it sucks because she isn't half bad as a studio rapper regardless of whether she rights her material or not. But being a white female rapper who authenticity was always a hot topic, she should have handled the situation much better and realized that she was a fad and didn't have a large enough solid core fanbase to support her. Poor that tbh, Team was kind of cute.

In all honesty, Iggy can only smash when she has a pop singer around that provides the hooks. Iggy on her own is destined to flop.

Like you said the reception was 'generally positive', so i guess it's already enough for her after all the bakclash of the last year.
I think she still could have a smash hit but obviously with a pop collaboration, not even during the 2014 this could have been a smash.
