Italy doesn't vote for its neighbors because we have a strong and unique cultural identity. France doesn't vote for neighbors either for the same reason. While countries Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Montenegro and Macedonia, which are very similar in culture, tend to vote for eachother.

People need to stop taking the odds so literally. They are not predictions, and besides after the first six countries they become redundant as the chances for each country become close to zero. The UK has shortened and leaped over a few countries because of good reviews from the rehearsal as well as drawing second half. The chances of it actually winning are still minuscule.

d well unfortunately for you guys, you have no one that votes for you just because you're France. In all Europe, the only countries that need to "deserve" their points bc no neighbors and no migrants are Switzerland, Austria, Malta, Czech Republic (when Slovakia is not in) and Hungary (they've been qualifying every year since their comeback in 2011 )
