It's so simple across all of entertainment and social media. People love what they love.
Why stan for anything?
Let's be honest: to become a superfan of anything is stupid in general, but we get addicted to the glitz and the glam and the game of it all! We can't help but feel inferior to certain "celebrites" whether they be athletes, singers, actors, etc. so we have this initial need to follow their every move, understand what kind of "superperson" they are, and become obsessed with every fiber in their being!
Now, to not understand it is understandable, because you, yourself, can't explain why you obsess over what you like the most. So, until you can unbiasedly and wholeheartedly explain the reasoning behind why you are addicted to the person you like the most, the music you like the most, the movies you like the most, the television shows you like the most, etc. you can't really understand why someone else might like something you don't…
