Think of it this way. What if someone kidnapped you, burned your house down, take out your teeth and leave you be or maybe even skin you alive? Is that gruesome and horrifying enough to be categorised together with rape? Do you know how that feels? To lose your house to open fire? To lose a mother because her skin is better than yours? To see your friend viciously shot down in front of your eyes while you fearfully run away leaving him behind? You wouldn't, until it happens to you, would you?
She's not taking anything out of context in this song. The message stands and holds clarity. Just because you are shamelessly low enough not to be able to feel compassion for creatures who don't look like you, do NOT, and I mean don't you DARE take this out on her for standing up for what she believes in because from where I'm standing the petty "animal slaughtering" you speak of, is just as bad as rape.
