You must not know many straight men. Many straight men don't like the Barbie/adult star look. It's well known that women dress skimpy and wear makeup for other women and not even to impress men. Men are subconsciously looking for someone to have babies with. That means they want the woman to be naturally beautiful.

Kesha is a great example (before she changed her look recently). She always had a fairly natural look and dressed less skimpy than say Gaga or Britney. Obviously a 45 yet old man still wants to screw her even though she didn't do as sexy or "adult-starish" photo shoots as the others.

Also, photo shoots are about 10 percent of a pop stars life. Do you really think these women wear full makeup and dress up every time they go to the studio? Other than Xtina I doubt it.
