Ironically these are the only films were WE receive acclaim and recognition for, white people love to see blacks oppressed and held against their will.
That's not why people watch those movies. People watch them to see how horrible racism is and to learn from mistakes in our society in the past. Same with movies about World War II.
I do agree that black people should be given more other roles though.
I loved The Help. It's a huge shame for humanity they were treated so badly by whites for the sole role reason of their skin color. Obviously, not everyone had servants, but white people didn't really care at that time.
I like the movies you mentioned but I would like for Hollywood to stop giving minorities the same roles, over and over again. Slave and servitude roles are getting old, maybe they could portray black people in a way where were not being objectives and dehumanized.
Lmao slavery and segregation is not our culture. All of those movies listed is Hollywood's pathetic fetishization of a tragic moment in American history.
Main reason why I don't watch or support any of these slave movies.
