If matters were to stick with the program we could expect a new album from The Killers this year; there is a 2 year gap between their three studio albums. Unfortunately, the pattern has been broken after the band announced they will be taking a long break after their show in Melbourne, Australia:

“I’m not sure if people are aware of it but these are probably our last shows for a while,” guitarist Dave Keuning told the Associated Press. “We haven’t had a break in quite a while. It’s just been touring and making records and on and on and on. It’s been like six years just kind of connected together.”
“It’s like people just expect us to do that non-stop till we die, but we just want a little bit of time off, just to be myself and do what I want to do for a little bit.”

Could this mean there was some truth to Brandon Flowers going solo or does the band really need their time to re-energize? Well, so be it, it’s a good thing they left us with three albums filled with great music.
