Question: What's Hidalgo's attitude towards the LGBT community? I'm curious since my entire family is from there.

One of the most conservative, at least according to the reports I was following. This lady sued to get married but preferred to have her wedding out of state.

Also, it's one of the only a handful of Congresses with no marriage bill presented yet.

Rights groups are already working to get Congress to move or use the final court rulings as plan B

Michoacan, Colima, Campeche (states with civil unions) have all hinted that they will do it this month

Chiapas is being sued like Jalisco was and once the Supreme Court rules, their marriage ban is dead on the spot

They're doing it the slow way, one lawsuit at a time. It takes 5 to set jurisprudence.

The state seems welcoming to me whenever I go.

She's from PRI so at least it seems she might be less conservative than PAN members, but I haven't read anything on her stance.

There's still a chance some state Governors are scared of the Supreme Court, but can't do anything because of Congress so they may issue an executive order allowing same-sex marriages - already happened in Chihuahua with a PRI Governor and Guerrero whose leader was PRD.

I wonder how much the proximity to the US and all the tourism to the beaches there influences her decisions. I hope Sonora pulls through.

If anything even comes that close, it would be 5 injunctions from the majority of states which would equal hundreds so far only a few have crossed the 5 each mark The best we can hope for is for it to be done nationally in at least two years time.
