Sure they SHOULD be, but we all know that it doesn't always go that way. Or have you never heard of Legacy Admissions?
When the same people that are discriminating against you are the ones on the admission board/hiring panel/judicial bench, do you really have a chance?
Black women in America are the most educated group, but remain the most under-represented in many facets. Is that supposed to be coincidental?
And I'm guessing we don't need to discuss the disparities in education in predominantly white neighborhoods vs. predominantly minority ones.
As far as numbers go, the white "majority" is declining pretty rapidly, but we are not seeing the same kind of exponential growth in other areas. Because the people in power make sure that doesn't happen.
I'm a black American, so I can only speak to my black American experience. And this is it.
