I like Lemonade and ST but a big factor behind the success of both was the surprise release/event-like nature of it. Last time she tried to release without a "stunt" she underperformed.

I'm not sure why 4 is your way of judging how she'd do without unconventional releases, when she has lots of conventional ones that were successful.

4's underperformance was mostly (I think) due to having such a different sound than what people were into in 2011.

There's no way Jay could have possibly cheated on a woman like Bey. Like, he's not that stupid to not realise she's been the most wanted woman in the world for years now.

Beyoncé's album is more than just cheating. If you don't understand the other culture and racial implications of those songs, and you can't see deeper than "Who is Becky?" then you've got it wrong.

Beyoncé is above all that. That is why there is no tell-all interviews with her album release and why she isn't doing a press circuit taking in all the drama. She is above it in that she only is mentioning it 2 years later, in her own way, in her own work, under her control.

And unlike those of his wife, Jay-Z's own revelations will have zero relevancy or impact and will hardly be as quotable.

I can't at people thinking the infidelity is all made up. Sure, it may be exaggerated a bit but it's art, they're allowed to do that. Have y'all never heard Beyoncé's music before recently? While y'all were too busy complaining about her being too guarded, she actually was spilling her own tea ESPECIALLY in b-sides. I think Jay has talked about their marriage in his music before too. The only difference now is that the world is more aware of it now.

Already cringing. I actually do believe there is some degree of truth behind Lemonade, even if what happened probably is sensationalized in the name of art. However, I don't see how Jay's perspective would not come off as trying to capitalize off of Beyoncé and Lemonade. He would need to prove that there is some validity to his story, which is going to be extremely difficult considering nobody really wants to believe what he has to say and anything he does come forth with may damage the integrity of Lemonade.

Could you be any more shallow?
