The reason Bernie isn't dropping out (and should not) is because of his role in shaping the democratic platform. The more contests he wins, the more votes he gets, the more interest he generates, the more clout and significance and respect he has going into the convention to convince Hillary to shape her platform as progressive as he possibly can get it.
It's not even about winning the nomination but making sure what he believes in will be enacted

As Rachel Maddow said the other night, the only people who care about the official Party Platform are the people who write it.

He can do that from his couch and at the convention. Not while putting out negative press releases against Hilary, even if he was in the right.

That's not true though... The country is becoming more and more left...

Only a little over 300. A huge towering lead.

That "only" is hardly an only. He has zero chance of making that up.

Exactly. We need a progressive platform to fix our country!

I'm not #BernieOrBust
But I don't believe a Trump presidency would be as bad as some people are making it out to be. Most of his plans would never get passed anyway

3. It's not just Iraq, Hilary is a warmonger of the highest order, just ask the New York Times. However she is VERY knowledgeable about foreign policy, which is a good thing.
4. Trump was asked a hypothetical about abortions, his he wants to move the GOP platform left on that issue. However, he will be beholden to the GOP to have a conservative stance on that issue.

1) Not statistically significant evidence. I've read up. It's not enough for these generalizations.
2) Okay, but Bernie wouldn't be able to do all that much anyways, and she's since come out against the TPP.
3) Good, we need someone that's capable of handling ISIS. I don't advocate war or interventionism but we have to be realistic about the situation.
4) I refer you to the literal quote:
Quote:
MATTHEWS: Do you believe in punishment for abortion, yes or no as a principle?
TRUMP: The answer is that there has to be some form of punishment.
MATTHEWS: For the woman.
TRUMP: Yeah, there has to be some form.

You're a "joke" to most countries because you're too right. What is this delusion?

I know a few of those. Anything to attempt to reassert a position of privilege.

He went further than any Republican in saying that women should be criminally prosecuted for having an abortion. Now, you can say that he hadn't thought about it; or that he was merely trying to please the GOP. However, all this does is, once again, highlight the inescapable potholes in Trump's knowledge and therefore eligibility to be President. He is not capable of leading the most powerful nation in the world. He is NOT. I don't know what planet some of you are living on, but you need to wake up to reality. A fascist, bigoted, and overwhelmingly under-qualified man could be about to take the office of the highest order. This is absolutely crazy. I can't actually believe it. If he is willing to say that women should be criminally prosecuted for abortions, what else is he willing to say and do? This man is an egomaniac whose visibly drenching hubris will ultimately be either his own downfall; or alternatively, be the downfall of the most powerful nation on Earth. It's for you to decide.

He's already have significant impact in terms of policy and the party's direction with his run, and he'd have longer significance if he rallied behind Clinton and tried to get at least a cabinet position to focus on his issues and to work with Hillary during her presidency.
|
I honestly don't think he wants a cabinet position. The only position I see him accepting is VP. But while he temporarily yanked Clinton left in terms of rhetoric (she was already there with her actions), she could easily vault right back to the middle come GE if she isn't checked at the convention. Bernie winning and showing his policies have a place in the Democratic Party will prove to her she needs to be slightly more open to progressive policies to gather the most democratic support and turnout

Yeah I agree he needs to stop that and get to policies. I hope he starts that soon.

@Monte like I said, I understand, but I don't CARE about his desire to influence the platform bc I don't think it's worth it

The pendulum isn't swinging right the general election pendulum is swinging more and more left than almost ever in history and this is really clear based on demographics and statistical trends are you sure you know what you're talking about hun
