Republicans, Bernie supporters, and ~independents~ do not decide elections. Minorities have been the decisive factor in both of the last two elections. Period. That's why I feel pretty confident in a Hillary victory. But don't blame Trump---Republicans would've had this issue regardless of the nominee.

I hate the idea of Bernie being the VP. I think there are far better potential candidates, and I think there are people who would do the job better.

But he might be what we need.

At this point, I'd be fine with that. I think Clinton-Sanders would be an absolute force to be reckoned with. Bernie needs to tone DOWN on the rhetoric now, though. And maybe start talking to Hillary to try to work that though. I don't think Hillary is going to enact or work towards that duo because Bernie has been the more aggressive one between the two. If anyone needs to start that talk, it has to be Bernie.

Here's the underlying math. If Clinton wins the 19 states (and D.C.) that every Democratic nominee has won from 1992 to 2012, she has 242 electoral votes. Add Florida's 29 and you get 271. Game over.

The Republican map - whether with Trump, Cruz or the ideal Republican nominee (Paul Ryan?) as the standard-bearer - is decidedly less friendly. There are 13 states that have gone for the GOP presidential nominee in each of the last six elections. But they only total 102 electorate votes. That means the eventual nominee has to find, at least, 168 more electoral votes to get to 270. Which is a hell of a lot harder than finding 28 electoral votes.

It's a Republican primary, you don't need minority support. Not the case in a general.

You win 5 blacks in a Republican primary and that's 83% of the black Republican vote.

Oh please, this type of divisive, hateful, extreme, hyperbolic rhetoric is why Trump is winning so many votes. He's a UNITER. He brings people together. Trump loves minorities and women

If you're illegal and committing crimes, then you might have something to worry about.

Disagree. Hillary needs to turn out the base, something that she has done just fine with. And Trump alone motivates the base, regardless of the VP pick.
