A Redditor named “Mecho,” posting to the r/asoiaf subreddit, used something called the High Valyrian Vocabulary Page to translate the last line of the prayer. Other Reddit users filled in the rest, and also discovered that the incantation was similar to the one that
brought Beric Dondarrion back to life back in
Game of Thrones season 3 – and also, that High Valyrian and Norwegian have more linguistic similarity than you’d think. Here’s the whole thing, via Polygon:
Zyhys oñoso jehikagon Aeksiot epi, se gis hen syndrorro jemagon.
“We ask the Lord to shine his light, and lead a soul out of darkness.”
Zyhys perzys stepagon Aeksio Oño jorepi, se morghultas lys qelitsos sikagon.
“We beg the Lord to share his fire, and light a candle that has gone out.”
Hen syndrorro, oños. Hen ñuqir, perzys. Hen morghot, glaeson.
“From darkness, light. From ashes, fire. From death, life.”
It wasn't translated by anyone on reddit. the maker of the valyrain language i forgot his name translated it and posted it somewhere idk. and also subtitles of the prayer were shown when it was shown for latin users
