New Jersey has the largest population of Indian-Americans in the country, so its no wonder that they do so well since the majority of them reside in the state of excellence.
A higher proportion of Indians immigrating to the United States are already middle to upper class, so "becoming" successful is easier. It's not as easy for an impoverished person from India to get US, compared to say, Mexican immigrants. I work in an area with both Indian and Mexican immigrants and the starting points couldn't be more different. There are exceptions though, obviously
