In a world where black women are constantly discredited and disregarded, you all (Navy + Hive) are ignorant as hell. Ya'll stay celebrating "my fave is the first black ... " - that achievement is much bigger than your fave. It represents a group of people who have historically been ******* on in America. Why can't ya'll for once in your stan-driven life be happy that two black women are slaying in their own right? Why do we constantly pit two women of colour against each other? That **** happens on a daily basis (see Taraji vs Viola; Tinashe vs Jhené; Bey vs Rih etc), yet we praise mediocre white women (no offence) for being well..mediocre at their job.
THERE IS A PLACE FOR BOTH RIHANNA & BEYONCÉ IN THIS MALE DOMINATED INDUSTRY.
It's about time you gays stop being overzealous and see the bigger picture, the bigger impact of both these women. That extends well beyond 14 #1 singles and 6 #1 albums or the first black woman to win an Emmy as a Lead Actress or only the third black woman to win a Golden Globe as a Lead Actress. We are witnessing a revolution, a ****ing movement. Black women are on the rise again. They're slowly becoming at the forefront of everything. Let's all choose to be feminists in the misogynystic/patriarchal society. Let's support women for a change. Let's support black women for a change.
I'm tired of you heauxz dragging each other and using the other's black female fave as a point of reference. Stop that misogynystic way of thinking. Free your damn selves.

AMEN! SPEAK ON IT.
Im tired of this feud its ridiculous.

Capping the Hot 100's top 10, Beyonce blasts onto the chart at No. 10 with "Formation." The song, from her album Lemonade, which roars onto the Billboard 200 at No. 1, is her 16th solo Hot 100 top 10 and first since "Drunk in Love," featuring Jay Z, which reached No. 2 in February 2014. (Beyonce has also notched 10 top 10s as part of Destiny's Child.)
I knew this "solo" nonsense was just that - nonsense.

Now you're trying to downplay the quality of her album. You guys are unbelievable, seriously

I wonder if 'Grown Woman' would have had similar success if it was released this way... still love that song!

Selective memory wasn't at work here. I've observed plenty and I usually don't partake in the "stan wars " thing. No worries, my previous post wasn't meant to be one-sided. Both fan bases are at fault when it comes to undermining each other's fave's achievements.

I'm not, it's literally just ATRL mess, it's exaggerated and pointless, but for fun. You're the one actually letting your feelings get in the way of your enjoyment of the album, which is when it becomes a problem.
Like Rih is another one of my faves but I still brought her up in the thread.. it's not like the Navy being extra and dragging Bey affects how I feel about Rih.

It's a GOOD album. Bey's best by far. I like most of it although a week later I'm only still playing like 5 of the songs. But you're all overrating it like its one of the best albums of all time, idc what metacritic says

And that's YOUR OPINION. If the BeyHive thinks it is one of the best albums of all time, then it is for us and luckily most professional critics share the same sentiment. I don't see what the problem is.

I'm not even going to give you the satisfaction of giving you a reasonable response because there's not one iota of reasonableness to your point.

Join me now in supporting black women.
Stop online abuse towards women of colour.
Quote:
‘In my mind, I see a line. And over that line, I see green fields and lovely flowers and beautiful white women with their arms stretched out to me, over that line. But I can’t seem to get there no how. I can’t seem to get over that line.’ That was Harriet Tubman in the 1800s. And let me tell you something: The only thing that separates women of color from anyone else is opportunity. You cannot win an
Emmy for roles that are simply not there. So here’s to all the writers, the awesome people that are Ben Sherwood, Paul Lee, Peter Nowalk, Shonda Rhimes, people who have redefined what it means to be beautiful, to be sexy, to be a leading woman, to be black. And to the Taraji P. Hensons, the Kerry Washingtons, the Halle Berrys, the Nicole Beharies, the Meagan Goods, to Gabrielle Union: Thank you for
taking us over that line.
|
See the light, embrace ALL black women.
There's a place for ALL black women in a white dominated industry. Let the light in now.
