A Billboard peak isn't the only gauge of success you know. TIHWD outpeaked Birthday in literally every country besides the US and UK... and Canada (where it still went Top 10 anyway). TIHWD has better total YouTube/Spotify streams AND better recurrent YouTube/Spotify streams. TIHWD sold equal to Birthday (last we knew) despite being a 5th single coming off a flop compared to Birthday being a 4th single coming off a monster smash.

...see where this is going? TIHWD peaked lower on Billboard because of radio. One platform doesn't determine which song is bigger, let's be fair now. And for the last time TIHWD didn't have a very big/good promo campaign.

More people know Birthday, let's be real.
BBHOT100 is the most important platform.
Birthday peaked higher on iTunes.
Plus it went #8 on Pop, where did TIHWD peak on radio?
People watched TIHWD MV for the video, not the song.

Need I remind you that Birthday had insane radio payola via cakes being sent to radio stations? Take radio out of Billboard's formula and TIHWD would have still peaked Top 30. Can't say the same for Birthday.

You can't just say these things with no stats to back it up tho. If more people know Birthday why are more people streaming TIHWD today?
