Yesterday I had an argument irl about Bey vs. Taylor.
They were saying "Bey is a real artist. Taylor's just a singer."
So I was pointing out certain differences in songwriting abilities, so then they switched to, "Well who defines what an artist is anyway? The point of Bey isn't the lyrics; it's watching her." Hmm.
Going through my Facebook to get rid of all the trash I've put on there over the years when I was young and impressionable. But back in summer 2010 I was already obsessed enough with Goddess Swift that I posted this gem:
Taylor Swift: #8 most weeks T10 BB200 of '66+ releases, 58 - Fearless
Most charted T40's 00-09 as main artist, 19 (tied with Eminem)
Artist with the super-majority of country singles released 00-09 that went H100 T5
Only artist with showings in all 3 T10 lists 00-09 for: # of million-selling digital singles, BB200 year-end album showings (inc #1), H100 Airplay year-end showings (inc #1)
