I didn't see any topics on ATRL about Graphic Novels/Comics so I decided to make one. What's your experience with the so-called graphic novels? Which are your favorite ones?
My favorites are Blankets, Persepolis, Blue Is The Warmest Color, Maus, Pride Of Baghdad, V For Vendetta, From Hell, Fun Home, Puma Blues, Through The Woods, Ghost World and Cages.
I love so many series: Locke & Key, Runaways, DMZ, Y: The Last Man, The Sandman, Scott Pilgrim, Nimona, Le Transperceneige, Watchmen
Ongoing: Saga, Chew, The Wicked + The Divine, Ms. Marvel, Rat Queens, Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, Sex Criminals, Alex + Ada, Descender, Trees, Bitch Planet, Injection, Grayson/Midnighter, Guardians of the Galaxy
I'm sure I'm missing a ton more. I love to hear suggestions so lay them on me!
i always wanted to get into them. i remember when i was younger i had a Naruto graphic novel i bought from Walmart () and i was obsessed with it. i'm looking into getting back into it legit this time tho
I'm reading a lot of X-Men rn and omg it's all so complex. So many different characters all with their own sub-plots

+ there's a lot of Claremont's run that I still need to read inbetween DOFP and Schism. I'll be reading for a damn minute
I actually love more the ones that are not about superheroes and that are not long series but begin and end within the span of one book. I'm into more dramatic and realistic stuff, even though there are great graphic novels in all the genres. So that's why I would like to hear more recommendations on such novels. There are some great articles on Buzzfeed about graphic novels. That's where I found some of my favorites. And tbh, this is such an underrated type of art - like so many people don't get how great it is and that it's so much more than just the cliche superheroes stuff.

Have you read anything by Ed Brubaker? He does mostly True Crime/Noir type books which rarely span more than a handful of novels. Fatale is one of my all-time favorites, and The Fade Out (which just ended) is only three short volumes and really good, especially if you're into Old Hollywood type stuff.

I enjoyed The Fade Out so far. I need to read the final volume and hope it delivers!
I remember reading all the Flight volumes my library had at High School, those were cute. Some were really sad though, I loved all the different styles and artists though.
