Whitney was much, much bigger by a factor of 10 but Prince's music will be more remembered in the long run.

Exactly. Why do people always wanna act brand new whenever a legend passes? It's reeks of insincerity, it's shallow and it makes them look stupid.

I doubt it, though just because of how successful she was.
I mean, she had a great voice, but compared to the other icons of the 1980s (like Prince, Madge, and MJ) her music is worthless.
Prince's run of classic albums from Dirty Mind to Sign O' The Times >>> Whitney's cute early singles.

Worthless? When it's still inspiring vocalists three decades onwards? When it's still one of the hallmarks and cornerstones of black music in the modern era?
If you want worthless, just listen to your favorite's "singing voice".

I Wanna Dance With Somebody and I Will Always Love You are bigger and more remembered than any song Madge and Prince released

Her music is worthless, yet "I will Always Love You" and "I Wanna Dance with Somebody" is more iconic than ANY Madonna song. Whitney's music is worthless, yet from the moment she came out she had artists copying her vocal style and she revitalized big ballads and she was a standout amongst the dance/pop trend that was running rampant in the industry during that time. What did Madonna bring to the table that was new or iconic, musically? You all have such a narrow view of artistry. Artistry is not just writing perceived "deep" music. What Whitney brought to songs, none of her contemporaries could do, including Madonna who couldn't even find the key on songs that weren't even locked in vocal acrobatics.

i really wish u would have some recipes for this. like going around and asking people. im sure they are at least on the same level. madonna also has so much more impact, while whitney has none, she was only a great singer, but shes not an artist, she was singing already made songs and wasnt face of any kind of fashion or cultural moment. i mean, u guys are overrating her just because she had one of the most powerful voices of all time. but voice doesnt make an impact, person does, and madonna and prince are artists and world was going crazy for them, ok still is. whitney doesnt have stans, where they at?

You're a Ciara stan. Your opinion on artistry is unnecessary and invalid. Have a seat at the bottom of the Billboard charts.

So instead of doing your own research and assessing their careers on your own, you're just gonna take what your parents said and run with it? So not only are your parents stupid, but they raised a child who lacks independent thought. Congratulations.

"I will always love you" and "I wanna dance with somebody" are more known and remembered than Like a Prayer. Burning crosses in a video like some blaspheme does not make the song more remembered. Deal with it.

There was a video out the year when Madge did the Superbowl of someone asking NFL players to name a song by her and there were only a couple of them that could. I guess she was so embarrassed by it, she had it removed.

You can't even capitalize your letters at the beginning of a sentence. Why should anyone take what you say seriously? Much like Ciara's vocal ability, you're transparent.
