The way it's used now in Australia, it's actually a derogatory term for mediterranean people (mostly greeks and italians, sometimes the balkans), which makes me really confused considering the man is Aboriginal rather than european.
The only explanation I can think of is maybe he's of mixed descent and "who is wog among your parents" = "where does your european heritage come from", and the second message says "wog-abo" to refer to him being mixed.
