White woman who racially abused hospital staff tells court she can’t be racist because she has four mixed race children.
Kerry Gannon accused of making monkey noises and telling hospital staff to "go back to your own country" as they treated her after a night of drinking, according to the Daily Star.
Gannon launched a foul-mouthed tirade at doctors and nurses at London's Kings College Hospital in July.
The mum-of-four admitted to swearing after having several drinks, but then argued that her love of black men and four mixed race children are proof that she can’t be a racist.
Appearing before Croydon Magistrates Court, Gannon said: "I have never slept with a white man in my life. I have four mixed race kids. They are my pride and joy."
The 35-year-old was accused of racially aggravated harassment after she swore and spat at staff and made monkey noises in a rage, a court heard.
The east London mum was escorted from the emergency ward when she shouted "black b******s" and "black c***" at the guards.
According to her version of events, she was the victim of aggressive staff.
The judge still found her guilty.
