Lady Gaga and Elton John to create clothing line for charity
Twenty-five percent of each purchase will support the charities championed by the celebrities, the Born This Way Foundation and the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
The collection also includes outerwear, beanies, keychains, speakers, water bottles and skateboards.
There’s also a range of novelty items like Neoprene backpacks that say “Love;” enamel pins and patches in the shape of moto jackets, electric guitars, microphones, platform shoes and of course, Lady Gaga’s claw, and clutches shaped as sunglasses, pianos and hearts.
I was going to drag her for only saying two months ago that she'd never have a fashion line because it disrespects artists or something....but this sounds more like merch.
I'd be on the fence if it weren't for charity, which is probably why she agreed to do it. It's nice to see popstars doing things like this for charity as opposed to money and boosting their own egos.

After reading the article, something most people here won't do, that's exactly what it is. It's not a clothing line, just some items to raise money for charity.
25% isn't that much, but at least it's transparent
Honey, all products are for less than 100$. If you know anything about merch, the margin is enough to sustain the business considering it's Gaga AND Elton.
The skateboard and piano purse look decent... Also, it's not Gaga's line at all... She's the face of it, together with Elton, but it's Natali's and Brandon's clothing line if you consider it that

You're absolutely right. Elton and Gaga are under no obligation to give the proceeds of these sales to anybody, so giving 25% to charity is really unnecessary. I think it's selfish that they even thought to give 25% because it's such an obvious PR move. If they REALLY cared about these issues they'd keep the profits for themselves and stop using this clothing line to distract from the real issues here.
