apple is selling too many ****ing products, they need to go back to basics

plus it's not necessary to release new versions of everything every single year

This isn't how business works.

They need diversity as it helps the consumer, when you have enough products out you can gain more than lose at it means there's more choice. There's 3 sizes of iPhones and that helps a ton for many.

They have to release every year. If you think not releasing every year is good don't run a tech company. Firstly, Apple has to please their shareholders since they are a public company. Secondly, they are a tech company. They have to update the hardware in their products. If they don't old products lose value they then lose revenue as old products won't push anymore. Also it keeps interest in the brand.

I say this as a huge Apple fan, they do need to step it up. It's high time.

This is good, because hopefully they will realize that they can't just keep selling products because of their name. They need to start innovating and try to better their products.

Making the phones bigger, smaller, slimmer, thicker etc. is not gonna cut it.

What else are they gonna do? No new versions of their laptops? That's stupid, especially since you can't upgrade them yourself.

No new versions of their iPhones? That's stupid too, since proccessor speeds get better, camera tech gets better and so on.

No new versions of their iPads? Not useful, since their pushing it as professional product now. Same reason as their phones.

No new versions of their software? Watch?

Like really, they stopped upgrading some of their desktop line and that is costing them money. But you're the business expert

but ok. i did not say or imply apple should stop upgrading their products, wtf i said release new versions of everything every year, as in every year it seems like they introduce new versions of things–the mini this, the mini that, new size macbook, new size phone, just adding products to existing families. do you honestly believe a company adding many different versions of products/diversity can't hurt them? that's such a naive oversimplification. cognitive dissonance exists. there's a reason steve jobs, the actual expert who made apple what it is today, would be rolling in his grave at what they are currently doing.

Well Apple was eventually going to start declining. It always happens. You can't keep relying on the iPhone, especially when it's the same phone every year now.

They released a smaller iPhone because people wanted that. It's also at a cheaper price point so it'll do much better in markets competing with Android. People want that size.

Apple always had a mini version of things even under Steve Jobs. Like how many versions of iPods and Macs where their under him? A lot. You're acting like this is new behavior Apple has always done this. Maybe the bigger issue is people aren't upgrading as quickly. Which is a problem with other tech companies.

Here in Europe the prices for Apple's products are very expensive, you spent 900 euro for an iPhone that in a year is already kind of "old" because the new version-model is already out.
A lot of people that I know (wealth people) are still stuck with the iPhone 5 or 5s and they don't care to get the 6 serie since the 5 is still working fine, others prefer stay with Samsung that costs 1|3 than Apple.
I agree that Apple should do less versions and release new products more slowly and more different from the previous one.

Personally I will always remain with Apple like I did in the last 10 years, but for sure I'm not gonna get crazy or spend money everytime they release a new version

Not sure how people expect them to continue having an increase in sales and profits every quarter, it doesn't take a genius to work out that there's no way that can happen forever and it's shocking that it's happened for such a long time.

I feel like they might get a good boost on the Mac side of things this year, loads of people (including myself) seem to be waiting to upgrade to the new MacBook Pro's which should be announced in June.
