Girls Aloud fans have launched an online campaign to restore the group's record-breaking chart run.
'Untouchable' - the five-piece's last single before embarking on solo projects - stalled at number eleven in May, becoming the first of their 21 singles to miss out on a top ten placing.
However, fans of the girlband have now set up a Rage Against The Machine-style Facebook group to correct the blemish.
"The objective is to get 'Untouchable' back on the top 10," the campaign's organisers explained. "To do this, we are going to choose a specific week when we will proceed to download the song and/or its remixes from any download site that count towards the chart."
However, they urged fellow fans not to act too hastily in showing their support, adding: "DON'T start downloading the song until we choose the week. If you download it now it won't have any effect. We all need to download the song at once on the same week."
US rockers Rage Against The Machine beat Joe McElderry to the top of this year's Christmas singles chart after an anti-X Factor Facebook group was launched.
You can do your part (if you love this band so much) by going over the the official fanpage on Facebook and join in the campaign. Even fans outside of UK can contribute to this. To find out how and for more info, go to http://www.tinyurl.com/untouchabletop10 now.
Take Note : This campaign is to GET UNTOUCHABLE INTO THE TOP 10, NOT #1. #1 IS a bonus.
Rage against the Machine campaign was totally ridiculous though i'm liking the idea. They're trying to ruin Joe McElderry's #1. Although he misses out on the X'mas #1, he still got a #1. Girls Aloud campaign however shows how much the band means to the fans. We shall all see the results on Feb 7th if this works or not.
Even though I love and adore "Untouchable" a lot and think it's easily one of their best songs ever, I don't want it to go top ten. It'll feel fake that it needed a facebook campaign nearly a year later to do it.
Its cool and its an amazing song and video but if it flopped when they were actually promoting it why would they make it peak higher with no promo (unless they count Cheryl's) and making it like a fan driven single?
No way, even stans would want to save their money.

IIRC they weren't promoting it, which is why it 'only' peaked at 11.
Also, it was coming off a 700/800k selling album so I wouldn't consider a #11 single a flop.
this is even dumber than the friggin christmas one !!!!!
one. maybe this song didnt get into the top 10 for a reason
two. its taking away the success of the other 20 singles that charted top 10
three. nadine is backing it??!? oh my ... you just dont do that with your own music, where is her pride?
its embarrasing ! is 20 top ten singles not good enough ???
