To some extent yeah. It's fun to keep track of your fave's chart runs/stats. But that doesn't mean I hate flop songs and stan for hits only or anything like that. Plus chart success probably means more promotion and time spent on future music.
On the subject of acclaim, that means nothing to me. I need to like the music, not some random critics.
