Jesus Christ, some of you really are shockingly dumb. I can't believe y'all are really invalidating Amandla's gender based on the "incorrect grammar" of using they as a singular pronoun.

Firstly, it's been done for years. Here's a whole ****ing wikipedia article all about the historical use of they as a singular pronoun. Go and learn something.

Secondly, how does it not make sense? How is "someone was at the door" "what did they want?" not a fully coherent exchange? What about it exactly is confusing to you?

Also, the fact that y'all still equate someone's gender with what's between someones legs is beyond ignorant. Humans are evolved enough to not be limited by outdated social constructs of sex and gender. Do y'all equate someone's sexuality with their genitals? Or their favourite food? Their favourite season? Has it ever occurred to you that people may be more than their genitals?

Them is aware that them/they refers to two or more people. Perhaps they is referring to them personality.

And it can also refer to one singular person.
