I really wish I had someone to talk to but I don't wanna go to a counselor or whatever at school because who knows what they'll diagnose me with and put me on, my friend went through that **** and he's on meds now

there's nothing wrong with being on meds if you have a legit mental disorder though. and a lot of people aren't really aware that they have a disorder until they talk to someone else about it, because they just think of how they think/feel as normal. i don't know if your friend actually did have a disorder or not, but it's not necessarily bad. also, they're not allowed to force you to take meds if you don't want to unless you're a severe danger towards yourself or others.
although when it comes to school counselors, they're honestly only really helpful if you have very typical issues that most college students go through. they couldn't really help me because i have a mental disorder, which makes my problems a lot different than average, and they just don't know what to do in those situations. so it's a good idea to go if you're going through severe stress, anxiety, or low self-esteem, but other than that it might not be that helpful.
