Sanders didn't say he thinks cigarettes should be illegal. He just said he questions the legality of cigarettes given that they cause cancer. And this was in reference to a proposed tax on cigarettes and soda. He does support a tax on cigarettes because they cause cancer but he does not support a tax on soda (Hillary does) because he said it'll raise tax on poorer Americans. Hillary supports a soda tax because she said it'll go into funding pre-K programs. So he's not against pre-K either, just a soda tax he's against

Sometimes you need a kick in the keester. It'd be one thing if it was taxes on NECESSITIES, but no one should be smoking anyway. Nicotine patches can be tax-free.

A tax on something that not only affects you, but affects the people surrounding you and the environment, should most definitely be taxed. I'm not against banning cigarettes eventually either, in the next 30 years or something.

Soda isn't nearly as destructive as cigarettes, but I still see taxing it as reasonable.
