1. Funeral are expensive I don't need to put my fam in any debt after my death.
2. I hear to many stories about people who get buried but still be alive just burn my ass up.
3. I'd like to be in my favorite place as my final resting.
4. When the lease on the ground is over, the casket is digged up and not all the flesh is decomposed, it stinks like hell and needs a reburial.
5. People can still mess with your body. (modern) Medical science started with people stealing bodies from fresh graves to have research/educative material in the universities.
That doesn't have to be the case, for Muslims it's normal to be burried in 24 hours for example.
yeah in Mexico they have your wake for you the same day you pass. for instance, you pass in the morning and they have your wake that night and bury you the next morning.
