It may be worse than it is in the '90s and '00s, but it certainly isn't as bad as Atlanta or DC. It would surprise me if Charlotte had high crime rates, as a few towns and cities in the Eastern part of the state (cough Rocky Mount and Lumberton cough) surpass CLT in the amount of crime. I don't mind Charlotte becoming a bigger metro, as it would be nice to have a large metro area in our state.
