Triple H: Chyna deserves Hall of Fame spot!
Quote:
WWE Superstar Triple H has paid tribute to "ground breaking pioneer" Joanie 'Chyna' Laurer after she passed away aged 45.
Chyna - billed as the Ninth Wonder of the World during her ring days - first rose to fame as the bodyguard of the 14-time world champion.
The 5ft 10in grappler became the first and only woman to win the Intercontinental Championship and the first to enter the Royal Rumble.
Triple H said: "It is obviously tragic and clearly my well-wishes go out to her friends and family.
"Brilliance sometimes, and that ability to push barriers and boundaries and be a pioneer, is often connected closely with other things that aren't so positive sometimes, and demons, and unfortunately that is the case.
"Man, [she was] just a great person, an amazing talent, a ground breaking pioneer, that was never afraid to go out on a limb and blaze her own trail through life.
"She never took, and when you're choosing a path [you can say] 'hey here is a path let's go down that one' or you can blaze your own path and burn it up and create something for others to follow, and that's what she did, and that star shone bright, but unfortunately burned out way too fast."
Asked today if he would like to see Chyna posthumously inducted in the HOF, Triple H told the Mirror she 'definitely warranted' a place.
WWE's executive vice president of talent, live events and creative said: "You know it's not my decision, but I definitely think, as I have said before, that what she did in her life certainly warrants it.
"There was never anybody like her before her, and there will never be anybody like her after.
"It's certainly warranted and I'm sure at some point when the time is right, hopefully, that could happen."

Vince McMahon didn't tweet about Chyna's death.
But he tweeted instead, about "Earth Day"
I was listening to Tazz's podcast and everyone calling in were frustrated how WWE ignored Chyna all these years and now that she's dead, they acknowledge her.

WWE is terrible. Honestly.
They dont handle anything normally.
And I dont think she will be included, Im surprised they even posted about her.
Never even mentioned her, ruined her life & now all of a sudden she is THEIR Icon/Legend...

They dated. He cheated on her with Stephanie. She started ruining his image by exposing him to the fans. They fired her.

What an iconic woman. She definitely deserves it. I was always saddened by the struggles she went through but at least she's at peace now.

Trash. WWE could have inducted her when she was alive but Trips didn't want to.
Now they want to think about it

And, if they do it would be only for the publicity they will get for doing it. Like they're using it right now...

No I meant Vince and Chyna. My bad sorry, should've been more clear with my words. Vince seems to be paying her absolute dust.

You should have given it to her when she was alive, then.
Scumbags.
R.I.P. Chyna

In defense of Paul, he said last year that he felt she was deserving, but it would be problematic given her (recent) ****ographic history. He's never spoken ill of Chyna when she was alive, so he wouldn't speak ill of her now. He's always said it's not his decision who goes in. Vince makes the call.
And WWE acknowledging wrestlers they've ignored while alive is nothing new. Macho Man was persona non-grata until his death. Luckily Warrior and Vince patched things up before his death bc he was viciously targeted by higher ups prior to his reunion.

Oh, he hates everyone his favorite daughter hates. Kind of. Its definitely something personal.
Its definitely because of Stephanie, cause Chyna would have said if something went down between her & Vince or someone else from WWE.

WrestlingINC.com: How did you find out about Triple H and Stephanie McMahon's relationship?
Chyna: Well, I had my doubts. Like people always say, "Is it real? It's television. Is the storyline real?" I was like, "Is there something going on? If there is, I can take it." This was my love, this was my career. I need to know because I didn't want to lose my career. He just kept saying, "It wasn't, wasn't wasn't," but his attitude had changed. I actually did the snoop. I found a love letter from Stephanie McMahon that had been dated from the previous year so I knew that there was a year affair going on.
WrestlingINC.com: What did you do when you found out?
Chyna: Within five minutes I called Vince McMahon and he was basically like, "Okay, well, the jig is up."
WrestlingINC.com: So he obviously knew.
Chyna: Oh, of course he knew. It had been going on for a year. But nobody told me.
WrestlingINC.com: Did you ever approach Stephanie after you found out?
Chyna: I did. After I found the letter I called Vince. He said, "Okay, I'll see you on Monday," and when I walked into the building it was like the parting of the Red Sea. It was like everybody was against Paulie. Bob Holly was standing around me, Billy was standing around me - it was just crazy. Then I actually was going into the bathroom stall of the ladies room because I couldn't stop crying and Vince was going to talk to me. He said, "Are you ready to talk Chyna?"
Then Stephanie stepped up. She took me into the room, we talked, and she goes, "Well, I love him. He's my man. I'm sorry if you feel that way…" and I shut her up. I said, "Shut up. Call your dad in here because I'm going to choke you out." "If you really feel that way, take control of yourself," then Vince came in and said, "Let's do a new contract. I know this is tough for you but it's going to be okay." Then I went home and I got a fax saying they didn't need me anymore.

Chyna's account changed so many times over the years.
First she said she started negotiating a new deal at the end of 2000 and wanted more money then they were paying. She was unhappy with what she felt was a demotion to the women's division. This was before Vince bought WCW. When he purchased WCW there was no leverage really and they weren't budging from their offer. Additionally, there were issues with HHH over their breakup and her belief that he cheated on her with Stephanie. They broke up around mid-2000 but were still living together bc they bought a house. It was messy as hell.

Yeah, all of that too, but she still should be in the HOF.
I still think the main reason she was fired was their relationship, because Stephanie didnt want her around. I mean, I feel like she doesnt get along with anyone - http://whatculture.com/wwe/11-major-...phanie-mcmahon and wants everyone to do whatever she says.
And even if money or demotion or anything else was the reason for her firing - I mean that happened to a lot of superstars, but she was like TOTALLY ignored about everything after the release. I dont think its a coincidence.

Admittedly my opinion re: Stephanie is different. I've had friends who worked (and still do) for the company, and they've never had a bad thing to say about her. Once again, Stephanie was a part of the creative process, but Vince has the final say on everything. Always have and always will until he dies.
As far as Chyna goes, I feel like if she hasn't spent the last 15 years continually attacking the company and Stephanie personally, things may have been different. Ultimately everything can be settled. Sometimes it's an apology, sometimes it's distance and both (ala Bret Hart). If WWE were still PG-13 or TV-14, privately held and didn't have sponsors to answer to, I think Chyna would have been back in the company, with her **** past embraced. After all, this is the company that has a character who essentially was a **** star (Val Venis).
Like...I feel bad. I loved Chyna as a kid. I was a huge fan. I always wanted her back in the company, I wanted her acknowledged, but her own actions kept getting in the way of that. As sad as her passing it, I'm not gonna revise history to make it seem like she played no role in her existence ceasing in WWE post-2001.
