Longevity matters people. 25 sold those numbers in like 5 months which is huge but the longevity 1989 had for like 1 year and half makes it more successful cos even if hello was bigger than any song swift released, Taylor managed to stay relevant and have many hits. While Adele only had hello...

25 is leaving the top 10 cause a LEGEND just died & he is charting again.
Hello went # 1 in 30 countries has sold 10m plus & broke countless records. None of Taylor's singles can compare. Plus from an album that sold 10m in 3 weeks.
25 went #1 everywhere broke records that no one ever thought will be broken & they will remain hers forever.
She's on her first world tour that broke servers from the amount of ppl trying to buy tickets. It will gross less than Taylor's but only because Adele chose not to do stadiums.
Adele just doesnt promote constantly cause the album did what it was supposed to do. She doesn't have to try anymore. When the tour starts in the US it will keep the album selling (not that it needs it)

Yeah 1989 had longevity but so far 25 is doing amazing for having sold so much.

If we're talking about the first weeks of the eras then 25. She broke all-time records with the lead single and album and had huge sales. The success was unlike any other album.

1989 however was consistently exciting and the era didn't fizzle out so quickly. It started in August 2014 and she managed to keep it going all the way to Spring 2016 with 7 singles and with many awards won and records broken along the way.

25 is the bigger album but 1989 is the bigger era due to its longevity.
