In any case it will surely be a masterpiece. The only question is if she has any chance to beat _genic's first week sales.
Anything less than 500k first week and 1m overall is a disappointment. This is the return of UTADA after all, Queen of the Universe. Singles Collection Vol. 2 was just a throwaway buzz album. I don't see any reason why her first Japanese album in 8 years would bring her legendary Million j-album streak to an end.
Wasn't Arashi the ONLY act to sell actual 1M copies last year? And as you said yourself, her last Japanese album was 8 years ago, the physical market has declined a LOT since then.
Anything above 500k for her would be amazing all things considered.
