Regretting every cent I have given EA this era.

Two DLC's before the end of spring is pretty good. I mean, that means 4 DLC's in less than 6 months. And then we'll get an Expansion announcement at EA Play.

Um Sims 2 got packs every 6 months and had way less stuff at this point. People are just used to the Sims 3 throwing out unfinished packs every 4 months. Literally unfinished, as most of the stuff had to be completed my modders because EA was overworking them (it's why a lot of people left).

They won't because it's their top selling game atm.

It's not a trailer, the announcement was supposed to be what kind of content we would be getting for the rest of the quarter, and they went one extra and gave us teasers for them.
Idk where people got the idea that it was some super huge reveal. It was just to let us know what to expect.

I don't get why people are all like "that's it?" when that's more than what you got inbetween expansions with the previous games.
The last EP was released 4 months ago, with the next one being announced in June, suspected for release in late July (according to a pre order listing that was accidentally published).

No because people will buy this, as a Kids Stuff Pack and Resturants have been majorly requested by fans.

I take it toddlers are never gonna happen at this point? Seems real strange.

Oh restaurants? That's cool and stuff but I hope the next expansion pack is adventure/vacation based.

Something like World Adventures would be amazing.

But that means we'd get just one or 2 expansion packs for 2016




I hate to be that typical skeptic simmer, but EA have done us better before. After months, and we don't even get a proper release date for those 2 packs. They already gave up themselves.


I know, that's what frustrates me the most. Q2 and Q3 (in the summer) is the perfect time to release an expansion pack. That's when everyone is on a vacation and looking for a new video game. That's one of the reasons why E3 is always set in June. Instead we just get small stuff pack for all summer long
I really, really hoped they'd release the next EP in July or August.

The head person for The Sims 4 recently asked fans for ideas for Toddlers. I'd say they are in the early stages.

The Devs want a WA 2.0 but they said the pack wasn't popular.

2 Expansion Packs a year is ideal. When there's more, they are rushed and unfinished and just terrible.
During The Sims 1 & 2 days, we got 2 Expansions a year and it was perfect.

To be fair, we just got a pack in February. And the next pack is probably coming this month or next. So that's pretty much normal.
We know they are coming in Spring 2016, which means we will get both before the end of June.

I don't know where you got that idea. They have only confirmed content for Spring, not Summer.
EA are holding an event in June, the same time as E3, and it's expected a new Expansion is going to be announced for the end of July.

If you missed it, the kids stuff pack said "SUMMER 2016".

Back in TS3 era, we'd get 3 expansion packs a year and by 2011 we got like 5 or 6 expansion packs. They're too slow on EPs this year. The reason hind this is probably because the lack of workers since the EA layoff that happened in 2014

Edit: yea in 2013 we got a lot is because sims 4 was coming.

We did. We got Showtime, Supernatural and Seasons in 2012. After that, we got University Life, Island Paradise and Into The Future in 2013. Not to mention stuff packs and the weekly/biweekly store sets as well.
There are HUNDREDS of good creators on Tumblr, just search #TS4CC which stands for The Sims 4 Custom Content, and you'll find a lot of good stuff. You can also check this blog and this one.

For sims 5 they just need to take some of all the other core games and and mix it in to one and just reboot as sims not 5 just sims

Yeah, Summer as in June. Which is just before E3. They said the announcement covers the next two months

Um, in 2010 and 2011 we got 2 a year, same as Sims 4. The Sims 3 turned to SH*T when they started 3 packs a year. They literally threw them out unfinished and modders had to finish them.

The layoff in 2014 wasn't to do with The Sims 4, it was to do with a entirely different EA studio.
Also, The Sims team recently got a whole new batch of devs.


All of which were utter crap, except Seasons. They were literally all bug ridden and unfinished. Pets was the last good expansion. Seasons was developed before the base game came out so it doesn't count. The store sets were also crap. They were basically glorified mods, which weren't even made by the dev team. Infact, all the store content is bugged because of the way the game reads it, it reads the same files over and over, constantly in the background.

Someone explain to me how the CAS in Sims 3 on console allows to customise my Sim easily (face wise) while the PC one has all these restrictions

I was easily able to make some tragic girl with Kesha sized lips on PS3. It won't work on PC even using the exact same sliders and preset. Wtf!

The Sims 3 as whole was infested with all kinds of bugs. IT ran on 2009 technology and didn't run on 64-bits, and not to mention all the patterns and textures that made the game slow and floppy. But they did their best with expansion packs. You could enjoy playing them without mods or CC. They had a lot of content and features. So far in TS4 we get only 3 or 4 main features per EP and the rest was objects and animations.

Most likely because TS3 for PC was built from the TS2 engine while the console versions had to be built from scratch.
