They can just wait for KIB to peak on pop then send Needed Me afterwards.
Maybe even a bit before KIB has peaked since I've seen it happen before. If I remember correctly Hands To Myself, Dark Horse, Love Yourself and The Hills all appeared in the top 50 on pop before the previous singles had peaked.
This is what I'm hoping for. KIB is rising really fast on pop radio, with no support from the other formats, so it won't take too long to peak there. NM can start its pop radio chart run in a few weeks, except if her team insists on pushing KIB somehow.
I'm not shading KIB btw, it remains my fave Rihanna song ever.
This will be Top 10 without the video if it keeps rising at this pace. Urban Radio and Rhythmic adio LOVES it and they were the main force behind Work going #1. I can see this being in the top 10 in 4 weeks. So a Performance at BBMAs and the music video will push it to #1 if the metrics add up in its favor. KIB is doing good on Pop right now with no help from any other format. KIB will peak by early June and I hope they send Needed Me there as soon as the video drops.

I think this is gonna stay predominantly urban/rhythmic; KIB is far better for pop audiences, it's working, too.
They need to send that to urban AC and HAC as well, it's looking up for it.
As far as this goes, it'll probably get BBHMM-sized airplay on pop radio... maybe even cracking Top 40,
but it'll go Top 5 without any major pop airplay (it doesn't need it).
yay!! top 10 here we come!!! it's chances of going #1 on the Hot 100 now are slim to none... but a top 3 peak should occur down the line!
