NOBODY owns the Land and everyone has the right to go to another country can people stop. I just don't get it. Lettin other people die because you see them as a threat.

You are just so evil you have to bring me down on a forum saying no one will sympathize with me. Even though your family had gone through all the hardship to bring you to safety. But here you are online saying toxic things at people who could only imagine the privileges 1st world takes for granted.

Completely and utterly ungrateful.

Whilst in their home country, they have a high chance of getting bombed at any second. Not to mention the other various factors that come into play - leading hundreds of thousands refugees to risk their lives, fleeing across dangerous oceans & borders.

From their perspective, this is their only chance at achieving anything to a normal life - it's definitely worth the risk. Tragic stories like these are just emphasised by the media so that we can ask that exact question - "is it really worth the risk??"

What's wrong with staying in Turkey? Its a stable country, and more similar to them religiously than much of Northern Europe.

NYC and the US closed their borders a century ago to stop the Chinese from overrunning America. In 1983 the UK suddenly created multiple classes of British passports to stop 8 million Hong Kong Chinese , capable of buying plane tickets, from overrunning London. Not all British passports are created equal.

17th century Netherlands was built in immigration, letting everybody in that was prosecuted in the other countries or just want to bring their capital to the Netherlands. The melting pot is a Dutch invention and New York was founding by a decision made in Amsterdam. When the English conquered it from the Dutch, it was renamed from New Amsterdam to New York. The English appropriate everything that was doing better then themselves, large parts of Dutch culture, ideas, inventions and capital ended up in the Anglo-Dutch (being the cornerstones of the US).

You sound like you have a lot of repressed anger about your own situation. You don't seek empathy, yet we're supposed to sympathize with you because you're privileged enough to get by in a country that doesn't support gays? These people can't "pretend" to survive when they don't have homes to live in, food on the table, or good enough jobs to provide for a better lifestyle in their own countries. Just because you're angry over your own helpless situation doesn't take away the right of other people to improve theirs.

Also, personal anecdote, my father's cousin is married to an Algerian and his parents, in their late 80s now, both regret the time of colonization as they believe independence has only allowed religious extremism to prosper in their home country. It's actually something quite common among the older and more educated crowd.

The reality is that, at least as far as France is concerned, colonization costed more money than it actually brought in.
