Yeah, I was in middle/high school during the 00s and finished high school in the beginning of the 10s and am now finishing college.
The 00s had "trashy" fashion and a heavy emphasis on "urban" styles in pop music, where now it's all about fashion that was dubbed as "ugly" and "for grandmas" 10 years ago, with more of a focus on synthesizers in music than anything else, with ballads falling close.
Technology is the most notable difference, though. Apple everything, everywhere. 10 years ago you would see a few people here and there with MacBooks, but nowhere near as much as you do now. We also have smartphones, too. I remember when it was cool to have the tiniest phone possible, and it was really something to have a phone with a camera and an antenna that didn't have to be pulled up out of the phone.
Basically, 10 years ago it was common to see people in ultra-low rise flared jeans with layered popped collared polos, all from abercrombie with a camera flip phone, while now you see people in higher waisted pants with button downs (usually buttoned all the way up) with a smartphone.
There are so many other noticeable differences for me.
EDIT: Gotta add the large acceptance of the LGBTQ community, as well. I remember back in 2006, a girl said "I never saw a gay guy til I was at the mall the other day and he was flailing his hands all over the damn place and buying huge sunglasses." The acceptance of the LGBTQ community has been HUGE this decade and young members have absolutely no idea how different it was for those who identify as not straight during that decade.
Sorry for the essay, I love this stuff
