This. Its a common shortened version already used in many countries/languages. It only makes sense that we want it to be official, especially when many shorten it to Czech and thats just wrong.

The country is still called the Czech republic, as many people in this thread have already said, it's just a shortened version of it. Some of Czech people also suggested "Czechlands" (to sound appropriate in regard of the three historical regions of Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia, which are located in Czechia).

I'm Czech and I'm fuming, Czechia sounds so fugly. Although as others said, the official name is still Czech Republic, so at least something. Still don't understand why it's suddenly such a problem, though.
