People are going to have to wait until all the majors are in their late 30's, 40's. The next batch of superstars will emerge to fill a niche that a current girl was filling well in her youth. Nicki could have never come-up unless Kim was on the decline. Britney slid in there because Madonna was getting old. All the good branding gimmicks might be taken for the time-being. The last one to come out with a great, original gimmick was Lana (Gangsta Nancy Sinatra).

Tinashe could be HUGE if her label would promote her. She has the look, the talent, the energy, everything. She just needs a label that promotes her ala Britney BOMT.

Dint Ariana debut in 2014 and she's already a big name now? social media makes it difficult to have attention tho and the album sales are declining..

We will never have a huge pop star again like the magnitude of Michael Jackson or Madonna or Beyonce and Britney because the machine is dead.

Everything now is all about streaming and going viral. Reality stars and popular online people have overtaken the market.

I don't really think any of those technicalities matter though.

True, but I'm saying Selena has the potential to be seen as a huge star since she becomes more and more relevant with each release.

I swear Nicki was around in 2009. I remember when she released Itty Bitty Piggy / Beam Me Up Scotty and I was in the 5th or 6th grade. But oh well, I guess we can't count that. I remember her very well, though. Because I grew up in a town where people knew about her well before any of that Pink Friday stuff.

Yeah, only really males have broken out this decade. Lorde is the only one out of the younger, newer girls that can actually spark a conversation beyond "omg she's so pretty!!!11 I love (insert quick hit)" Like honestly, Ariana, Selena, Meghan, Halsey, Tinashe, whoever you guys are stanning for nowadays could combine all of their album sales and still not outsell a lot of the releases by our girls. People are just buying into them because nothing else worth-while was really happening before 25. Once all the girls come back we'll see them fade into irrelevancy outside of social media

I would say Ariana and Meghan are pretty high up there. But I do believe the A-listers from the past have such huge social media platforms it's much harder for newcomers to compete and slay. Ariana and Meghan both have raw natural talent, you can't deny that.

When Rihanna, Katy and Gaga were at the same point than Ariana and Meghan building up. They felt like 100x bigger

Cos its too easy to get a hit now, back when gaga and katy etc broke out, you actually had to do stuff.
I also would love to see a new "pop girl" like a katy or gaga but i doubt it :/
People have seem to lost their creativity

Image is so important to become a main girl. Right now Meghan is just not cool enough. The tragic NO video is testament to that. There is just no buzz about her as a brand. Also her spotify numbers are not promising... The spotify demographic is older teens and young adults (ie. the people that set trends) and she is not performing well there.
