Beyoncé was clearly the biggest risk taken in the decade. Non-commercial music (boring in my opinion, but many people enjoyed it), and unconventional release.
The high risk was praised (still is), studied (think pieces, courses) and was a big success, cutlure (feminist movement) + its impact (changed the industry) >> the others cannot compare.
What exactly is risky about Born This Way? Other than her fairly weird image?
It was one of the biggest album campaigns of all time... and the music is typical Gaga with an 80s rock influence. Just because the GP didn't fall in love with the sound doesn't mean it was risky. None of the songs were TFM level smashes.
