The Hunchback of Notre-Dame is so overrated by Disney purists. That movie will never be touching the quality of the original book. It doesn't help that it is the most forgotten and uncared for Disney movie of the Renaissance.
Omg I used to have the VHS copy when I was a kid. Also the story is not that kid friendly But I really like the art and characters.

The story is beautiful. It's about the juxtaposition of a kind-hearted hideous man that is seen as a monster by his world, a Gypsy woman doing what she can to survive in this world seen by society as a *****/harlot, while the "justly" Judge that is supposed to be the moral figure is the real monster of the world unable to control his sexual demons. It's amazing. But Disney doesn't go hard enough to justify the original story but it also goes too far to make it enjoyable for children.
