Besides, people forget the point in university. They're not job training facilities, they're meant to be "thinktanks" and places where research is done and topics are developed. It's just that they're marketed as such and too many people fall for the scam

If you mean generic as in jobs which pay well and will guarantee job stability, then yes.
Any Arts degree, science or business degree as you said falls under that... So almost every possible job or career now requires higher education.
But I agree that they are "thinktanks" but they are now required for jobs therefore people have no option but to continue with postgraduate education.
