Can you name some albums that were initially going to have different lead singles than the ones that were chosen?
Britney Spears - "Outrageous" (In The Zone. Jive wanted this as the lead single but Britney fought hard for "Me Against The Music" for the lead)
Adele - "Send My Love (To Your New Lover)" (Adele said in an interview that this was initially the first choice for the lead from "25")
Lady Gaga - "Aura" (Gaga initially wanted this as the lead single from "ARTPOP".)
Carly Rae Jepsen - "Run Away With Me" (Carly wanted this as the lead single from 'E-MO-TION' but her record labels / Scooter Braun wanted something as catchy as "Call Me Maybe" as the lead, and "I Really Like You" became the lead).
Madonna - "Candy Shop" (Madonna wanted this as the lead single from "Hard Candy" but Warner Bros. wanted the "4 Minutes" Justin Timberlake feature as the first single. It became a huge hit but one of her worst songs. There's a reason she still performs "Candy Shop" on tour over "4 Minutes"

).
